I just called them trying to sell a photocopier, not much in the way of retaliation but to me it felt great. They did not need one so I told them i would call tomorrow and see if they had changed thier mind.
Just got the e-mail to call, he has an interested buyer in Memphis. Glad I decided to google the number first. Needless to say I didn't fall for it. I never called. Below is the message in full.
Hi, I need an agent/broker in Memphis to assist a client I have named Bobbie, who has contacted my company, Real Estate Client Referrals to help them with their purchase. With the increase in verified clients contacting me over the last 60 days, and the fact that I do not have an exclusive agent in Memphis, I have taken it upon myself to send you and a few other select agents in your area this brief e-mail. Please call me on my direct line, 406-532-3758, if you are interested in working with my clients or have any questions. Look forward to talking to you soon and have a great day.
I too just got a call from "Marvin" at 406-532-3758 who left a message saying he had a prequalified couple looking to buy TODAY in the E. Mountains, $200,000. Tried to sound real urgent (ha-ha). I can smell a scam even BEFORE my first cup of coffee. I'm really sick of these vultures trying to peck our eyes out and rob us blind. GO AWAY. How do you report? I'm on the do not call list.
Just received a phone call from 406-532-3727, which I did not answer. Luckily I did a reverse look up, found this site, and just for sh*ts and giggles dialed the number. Low and behold, it was good old Mr. Steve Levin from Real Estate Referrals!
Thanks to all of you who posted prior to mine alerting me to this fraud...I really appreciate it and hope my post supports yours!
For you to call someone a moron for refusing to use these types of SCAM lead services only tells me you are probably part of the scam and if you really are an agent using this type junk lead service then you wont be around very long. . I have NO need for this type service... why... because I do good business with good people and upon the completion of each transaction I ask my clients to help me find new business... they are more than happy to oblidge. The best leads and referrals I have ever gotten came from past clients, so.... FORGET YOU MISTER SCAMMER.... I refuse to pay for leads....
P.S.
I have been selling real estate since 1993 and my business continues to grow every year without the nead to pay for your phony leads..... guess simply following good business practices and giving quality service to my clients makes me a moron too.....
They are going to claim that they can call us because we are members of NAR or of our State/Local Associations. When they tell you this keep in mind that NAR (and your State/Local Assns.) have privacy policies.... NAR says they DO NOT share your personal information (this includes your phone #).
Now for a quick word....
I encourage each an everyone getting these calls to place your number on the DNC registry if it is not already listed.... AND if it is already listed, PLEASE REPORT THESE ABUSERS...... I did...
Please remember....one voice in a whisper is hard to hear... but thousands of voices whispering in unison creates an undenyable ROAR!
