Got a robo call at noon saying they had important information about my credit card, press "1" to be connected. Someone mumbled their name when they answered and said they were calling me from my credit card company. I said "which one" and they mumbled my name. I said "no, what company are you calling from?" They said- your Visa company. I told them there is no such thing as a "Visa Company" I again repeated "which one" and they said "Chase" (I don't have a Chase Bank Visa). I again asked them what was the full name of the specific company they were calling from and surprise! the phone line went dead.
The call came this afternoon, 4:05 pm. We didn't answer. Our caller ID showed the name "Credit Services" and 406-478-2002. We are registered with the national no call list.
HUGE SCAM. I answered (just because I get tired of them calling). The gimmick is to "lower your interest rates to 6%". When I asked him (who didn't speak audible English) what company he was with, he said Visa & MasterCard. When I asked him which Visa & MasterCard company, he said Chase, Bank of America, Capitol One, etc., etc. I didn't know that all those banks had become one... LOL. Give us a few years, and maybe it will be... but I digress. I asked him where he was calling from... and he said the Orlando main office. I then asked for a phone number that I could call back to. He got nasty and said... "Do you want to lower your rate, or what?!" I said that if he was, in fact, calling about one of my current credit cards and he represented one of my the cards that I use, I wanted to know which one it was. Upon that request, he hung up. 8/14/2010 @10:00 am
