They got me hook,line and sinker.a call came in saying to punch 9 on you phone to lower your credit card interest rate.I punched 9 on my phone and this nice young man named Scott Freyer asked if I would like to lower all my credit card interest rates,it sounded good.and with all this stimilus money that is floating around,I thought maybe this was really true.I gave him all my credit card info,like a fool.I usually don't do that.he wanted my wife's info too.she wasn't home.so,he is supposed to call her tomorrow.I told her about it and she was very upset with me.I can't blame her.I should have known better.I started getting suspicious as he was finishing his little speech.there is a one time charge of $995.00 for this service.he said he would be sending out a package in a few days.we are to list all our accounts and enclose copies of all their statements.and,they will take it from there.he said that his company was Genesis Capital management Co.he gave me a 1-888-897-5030 number to call to verify that this was on the level.after researching on this site and a couple of more,I am going to call the Attorney General office in NC and Fla.I will have to call all my creditors tomorrow and inform them to check with me before authorizing any new credit requests.you would think that a 66 year old man would know better than to get hooked by something like this.
My phone rang and when I answered, a recording asked me if I would like to lower my credit card rate to 6.99%. Dial 9 and act soon as this rate wont last long. I dialed 9 and no answer.When I tried to call the phone # back, 407-000-4712 it says, sorry your number can not be completed as dialed, please hang up and try again.I believe this is a scam.
david i hope to closed your credit card account. You have been scammed!You need to go to your local police department and file a report. and file a complaint with ftc and fcc.
2 calls from this # came in within a half hour. "Rachel from Card Services" on a recorded intro (ILLEGAL IN ND!) gives the spiel about "your credit card account" and gave the option to push 9. I did, and when the live person came on I didn't even get a chance to finish "Take my number off your list" before she hung up. On the 2nd call, I pushed 9 during Rachel's bit, and got a recording about the "Bright Mark" representative I was trying to reach not being available and I couldn't leave a message. I'm hoping for another call so I can ask how much the person on the other end enjoys working in a criminal enterprise. There's no doubt that this is a phishing scam. Spoofing a bogus phone # is illegal, pre-recorded sales pitches are illegal in my state, and they're up to no good. I'd like to be able to maybe track them down and have the Attorney General go after them.
