The majority of these calls are place by a computer which automatically places numbers with no answer back in the queue to be called again. Very few of these systems are programmed to leave a message since it would likely serve no purpose to leave one.
Called 3 times in a row within 10 minutes. My answering machine does not pick up until 6 rings and this caller waits through the entire message and then hangs up so it's a loud harrassing noise message.
AS CONSUMERS - WE MUST UNITED TO STOP TELEPHONE BULLYING AND TERRORISM! TIRED OF UNWANTED, HARASSING, TELEPHONE TERRORISM? I keep a list of all unwanted calls and report them to my service / cable supplier once a week. NO, WE SHOULD NOT have to deal with this! Service suppliers need to provide consumers with UNLIMITED blocking abilities! My phone has a 30 call capacity and my cable supplier gives me another 30 block call capacity. I purchased separately another blocker that has over 300 numbers that have been blocked. AS CONSUMERS WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL UNITS!!! Complain to the National and State do not call registries is a absolute JOKE!
Take a moment each day and write down the unwanted numbers, the caller ID and time - go to sites such as this one and try to determine who they are ... once a week send the list to the provider and complain. Believe it or not, it does slow down some of the calls, but they will still come through. Keep Diligent!
What if you get a reverse emergency call? Will you answer it !!!
What if something truly horrible is happening in our neighborhood and I don't answer the call?
What if your loved one is out of the house and something terrible happens like a accident ... will you answer a unknown number?
I have instructed my family members to sue brighthouse because they have the power to STOP these calls and give our phones back to us!
