I received a hang up call from this number. When I called the number back I was ask to hold while the subscriber was found. The name was a woman's name going to voicemail. It was a cell phone.
If you are on the "Do NOT Call" list, or if the call was a recorded message they are breaking the law so it is doubtful that the call is actually from Walt Disney World.
If it is from a cellular number it is also most unlikely that it is actually WDW. IF WDW were calling itself they would be calling from a LAN line.
Now it may be some contractor selling tickets for WDW, but how would you know that was legit?
Very dangerous to give account information over the phone to anyone that calls you since you have no idea who they are. The problem is that some do so they keep trying. If folks just never ordered this stuff over the phone they would have no market.
The cell number may say "WDW," but has nothing to do with Walt Disney World. It's a TIME SHARE offer, and the time share isn't even affiliated with the park.
The telemarketer I talked to claimed the time share is "In the area" of WDW, but wouldn't be specific.
Her company is offering a "90% discount" on a WDW vacation.
You get a ONE DAY PASS to the park (whooptie-do) for two people if you agree to visit their time share. I said "Really? And exactly WHERE is this time share?"
The telemarketer said "Mam, if you give me your PERSONAL information, I'll give you specifics."
I said " NO THANKS! Only shady people...SCAMMERS to be exact, refuse to give a potential customer information on the product they're selling. You must be a scammer since you won't even tell me the name of your time share and where it's located."
CLICK! They hung up.
Did I say that the lady's voice had a distinct, INDIA accent?
I'm about sick to death of these foreign scammers. They seem to think Americans are easy targets. Offer something free and we fall all over ourselves trying to get to our credit cards.
