Called me again today 7-18-2011. 1-407-936-9999. These @sshats just don't quit. I kept the guy on the phone just a bit until I was about to lose him because he actually got aggrevated because I didn't have my CC statements in front of me to give him specifics on interest rates per balances on the multiple cards I told him I had. I only have a couple and they have no running balances. I just wanted to keep him on the phone. He actually said less than a minute into the call that he gets paid by the hour and that he needs accurate info immediately. He used the word "dude". I finally let him have it with choice words mixed in with fraud, scammer, and low life pieces of ****!!!! The phone then went dead. I had one of these guys last year during the tirade part of my call, call me by my name and say he knew where I lived. I invited him over if he had a pair if he didn't like the words. He hung up. I wish these jack@sses would put my number on a list to pass out to all their scammer pals that my house is wise to them and to quit wasting my time and THEIR OWN and move on to look for some poor sap that believes their attempt at theft.
I tried to keep them on the phone just to be annoying, telling them I had all sorts of credit card debts. When they asked me for card information I laughed and said that didn't sound too safe to give to a stranger and that it might be best if I reported them to Do Not Call. What's weird though - try calling back their number....
every day around 12-1pm I get the pre-recorded call from Rachel from Cardholder services. I hang up and report it to the DNC complaint form immediately. Such pieces of **** harrassing us.
"Rachel from Cardholder Services" is almost certainly a credit card phishing operation because the latest caller said he needed my credit card number to verify my balance. They are almost certainly a criminal operation. They also are definitely in violation of Do Not Call although that is a civil and not a criminal offense.
The most effective thing to do is to tell them you need to find your credit card number, leave them on hold while you "look for it" (I left my radio playing so they would know they had not been cut off so they would wait longer) and then, after you have wasted as much of their time as possible without wasting any of yours, let them know what you did and why--you knew they were scammers all along and, if they don't want it to happen again, the best thing is for them to never call you again. One guy hit the roof and said sarcastically, "I hope you enjoyed wasting our time" to which I replied, "I hope you enjoyed your call to a Do Not Call number."
I am sufficiently tired of them, though, that I am turning them in to law enforcement for harassing phone calls plus suspicion of credit card phishing.
By the way, none of these numbers are real; they spoof the phone number to prevent tracing by Caller ID so reporting them for Do Not Call won't work.
