Called me again today 7-18-2011. 1-407-936-9999. These @sshats just don't quit. I kept the guy on the phone just a bit until I was about to lose him because he actually got aggrevated because I didn't have my CC statements in front of me to give him specifics on interest rates per balances on the multiple cards I told him I had. I only have a couple and they have no running balances. I just wanted to keep him on the phone. He actually said less than a minute into the call that he gets paid by the hour and that he needs accurate info immediately. He used the word "dude". I finally let him have it with choice words mixed in with fraud, scammer, and low life pieces of ****!!!! The phone then went dead. I had one of these guys last year during the tirade part of my call, call me by my name and say he knew where I lived. I invited him over if he had a pair if he didn't like the words. He hung up. I wish these jack@sses would put my number on a list to pass out to all their scammer pals that my house is wise to them and to quit wasting my time and THEIR OWN and move on to look for some poor sap that believes their attempt at theft.
Guess what folks! Most of these callers aren't even in the United States. They're offshore or in foreign countries. I have been in telecommunications for years and just about any phone system today can override the telco caller ID. They can transmit any caller ID they want. We do it all the time with employee direct dial numbers. Instead of sending just the main company number, we can send the individual employee's direct number so the called party can call them back directly. Another method they use is hijacking unsecure phone systems and horseshoeing back out on another line on that system. That line then sends out the caller ID of that system. None of these [***] are legit. They are lowlife scum that deserve nothing more than a bullet behind the ear.
I got a call from this number again today (3rd time). Tried just ignoring it, but finally got ticked off and called this number back to see just who the heck it is and what they wanted. Anyway, got a recording when I called and they're claiming to have something to do with permits, asking if I was a customer or a contractor, wanted a permit number and /or contractor's license number. Tried to get an operator to pick up but was instructed to hang up and try my call again later. Hmmm. I don't have any need for a permit, nor do I have any need for a contractor so ... I'm anxious to pick up on the next call I get from them just so I can give somebody some sh%t !
Just called. ID'd as "Out of Area". The same sounding spiel as 321-304-9999 who, when I checked exactly one week ago, had 22 pages of comments. Same scam.
These people are unbelieveable. Do not call lists don't seem to phase them. ...and yes, like several others have reported, they've been using several numbers. My latest tactic? For todays call from them I dialed 1 for an operator, asked a few questions (to feign interest), and then asked her to hold (she did! - for at least 5 minutes). After just setting the phone down & then coming later I asked "Are you still there?" She was! :o)
I next said "Good! I think you've stayed on the line long enough now that I got a trace on your number. I'm reporting you to the FCC. Don't call again."
I did report the call to "donotcall.gov" (Yes, I'm on the do not call list. Yes, I report every call) Even if "scaring them off or reporting them doesn't work, I stil say "delay, delay, delay... them" when they call. If enough people make them piss away their phone bill time, then maybe it eats up enough time to make this SCAM! unprofitable. Besides, you get a "live fish on the line" have some fun & play it.
