Call came in at 1:15PM CDT showing "Lower Interest Rates" in the Caller ID window. Nothing like giving away the game right from the start! The number is now safely in the Blocked Caller list. The Do Not Call list does nothing to stop these scammers.
First call @11:30pm, second call @midnight. Not cool~I have 2 family members in the hospital right now, and I was very scared to answer the phone. Now I'm pissed.
I got a call from this number claiming to be from the "tax renegotiation center" wanting to help me reduce or even remove my debt and some such crap about Obama but I didn't catch it all. It woke me up. They called me three times this evening. 11:02 pm (I hung up), 11:03 pm (I again hung up) and 11:36 pm and I opted to push #7 to be removed from their call list. Don't know if that will make a difference, but now I wonder whether I'm going to get any sleep tonight....waiting for that next call to keep me from getting a good night's rest. Guess I'll just have to block the number.
Same thing as previous messages posted on this website . . . received a call after 10pm PST and then again at midnight. None of our friends or family would call at these times, so we knew it was a hoax. So sorry for the people who have ill relatives. Total [***] to pull this kind of thing. Get a life and do some volunteer work instead.
Two calls tonight, one at 10:24pm and a second at 11:55pm. Both had recorded messages about negotiating back taxes. The first call went to VM. I picked it up the second time and waited until the end of the message to see if there would be an opt-out opportunity. It said to press "7" to be removed from their list. I did that but will still block the number. This kind of scam is bad enough, but it's not acceptable to call at midnight.
