I received a call as well, and didn't receive a voice mail either. On my iPhone it says from South San Francisco Bay Area. I live in TX and don't know anyone from there so I don't know why I would have received a call from there.

This is most probably from Your School Awaits in San Jose California. Apparently, I had applied to a local community college and FAFSA, so one or both of these entities are selling our private phone numbers, personal information. You can call the Do Not Call Registry number and put your number in as well as reporting them to the FTC, for I want no Solicitation of any of my personal/private information.
When you call them back, the message asks if you want to be put on the Do Not Call List, hit 1, however, it does not work, so this definitely is a sold information from probably your college that you have applied to and/or FAFSA. You can report both entities to the FTC.gov.
