•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
Why do these idiots think they can get away with this. They not only get hostile when you inform them that it is a scam but they continue to call back and sexually harass over the phone and keep calling. They dont even speak clear english. Cell phone companies wont even do anything about it.
They just called me with the same scam being from the IRS, when I know that I owe them and have already made my payment arrangements. The name you couldn't even understand him sounded like David Bower. Told me that the IRS filed a lawsuit against me, and asked if I had any traffic tickets. I told them I alraedy spokewith someone from the IRS and they are not aware of any of the information that was relayed to me.
Called said they were from the IRS investigations department. I informed them that I had never heard of the IRS personaly contacting people without doing so my mail. Then I told him I was not a US citizen and didnt work or file taxes. (not true)
Never received a phone call, however I did receive the email below. I find it rather frustrating that they advise there have been numerous attempts to contact me, which is completely false. Anyways, have no intention of returning this call or message in any way.

The IRS will contact you via USPS MAIL if you have a problem/owe back taxes/penalties, etc. Email is not a legal means of summoning you to court - so it's obviously a scam - and the atrocious English and grammar should also tip you off that this is a scam.
