I just had the exact same experience. They follow up with a "supervisor" that gives you a confirmation number and contact number supposedly confirming your lifetime interest rate reduction. I reported it to my credit card company; hopefully, their fraud department will investigate these clowns.
Started with a recording advising me I can lower my interest rates on credit cards. After pressing 1 I was talking to a male who started by telling me about credit cards rates. I interupted him to say I don't have any credit cards. He insisted that I have a $ 3,500 balance on a bank card. When I asked him just who he thought he was calling he said, "this is [***]" and hung up. No response on redial.
I just received a phone call from this number while at work. I ignored it and assumed it was a solicitor since I didn't recognize the number. I live in the state of Oregon if that information helps anyone!
03-05-2013 5:26 p.m. eastern time. I received a recorded message from "Heather with my credit card company" wanting to reduce my credit card interest to 6.9%. None of my credit card companies have my cell phone number and can't find it by my name as I am on a family plan with the bill in someone elses surname.
Just another one of the spoofed numbers used by the "card services" scammers Google my name to learn how to eliminate their annoying calls, while also having some fun!
