Had placed an online order with Office Depot earlier today, then a little while later got a call from what was obviously an overseas call center. The rep knew the product ordered, and other order information, but wanted the exp date and security code.
I asked for a number to call back - the number she gave me was the same as the Office Depot number from the website. That rep could only say that this happens for "security reasons", and after some discussion, I did give him the info. I hope we get our order!
I received a call from 408-636-1500 just an hour after placing an order online. They verified the 3-digit code that I had input on the site and the expiration date of the card I entered on the site. I had apparently mixed up 11/12 and wrote 12/11. There was no malice involved. They were just confirming the order. This was NOT a bad experience - the lady was helpful and friendly.
