Today I received a call from 408-663-9181, a company called U.S. Investigations Department. He had a very thick foreign accent (Bangladesh maybe) and left a message saying I had a case against me. This CLEARLY is fraud. If there was a real case, i would've gotten some paperwork, not a call from some person i can barely understand. Other websites say this company will say u have a case using the last 4 of your SSN, then try to EXTORT MONEY from you!
I am reporting this number to the:
National Fraud Information Center
1-800-876-7060
If u get a call from this number, please do the same. I am SOOOOO sick of these companies taking advantage of people who don't know any better.
Got two phone messages on my home machine from 408-663-9181. The first one was at 9:44 A.M. and then again at 9:46 A.M. Indian accent, and he said his name was Jack and that he was calling from the California Bureau of Investigation. He recited the same message I've been getting from other phone calls like his since 6/09. They always want either myself or my retained rattorney of record to give them a call back as this is a serious and time sensative matter. Same message both times. The only thing is, this is a total scam. PLEASE don't even call them back, unless, of course, you have a very loud whistle that you want to blow in their ear.....
THIS IS A SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and using bought/hacked loan application data to extort money for fictitious crimes or your personal ID.

I'm getting the same call from a guy with a foreign accent. He told me if I or my attorney didn't call him back I too would go to jail. This is sooo ridiculous! Thank goodness I looked this number up on the internet! The call came from Sunnyvale California so it says!
p.s. I've gotten this call twice!
