I got the same kind of call. When I answered he said hello and used my first name. I responded back in a snotty "Yes" and he hung up. I heard my voice repeat over the line too, VoIP technology probably.
Called and said he was from a home improvement company in town. Asked if I was Mrs. Xxxxx I told him no. He asked why I have their number? I don't. I've had this number for 37 years. Wanted to know if I lived on some court (don't remember the name) I told him no. He said "Are u sure?" WTF!!! I said you're stupid and go Fuduck yourself and hung up.... I could hear the boiler room in the background...
Called saying they were a company in our town and they did repair work. Would like to come out and give us a free estimate. I said we have thought about it but were not ready now. I asked his phone number bur he said he would send something in the mail. I knew he wasn't a company in our small community, never heard of him,and his area code was wrong., and it was a cellular call on caller id.
I spoke to him he asked for someone related I asked who this was he asked if this was someone else related. I said who's this he said his name but he spoke in a very fast manner he said come on buddy tell me who you are. I asked his name again he said who are you buddy come on tell me who you are buddy. I said no I am me you are you tell me who you are and what is this regarding he said come on buddy tell me who you are I said what are you a Cop and he said "Yes that he was a cop" I asked for his badge number he said come on buddy tell me who you are I said whats your badge number. He spoke in a very threatening manner he took advantage of it especially with all the corruption of police officers in the Santa Clara County that people pretend doesn't exsist or know that it does but they end up kissing their [***] instead.
He called and my answering machine told him if I didn't recognize the # I wouldn't pick up so leave a message if they didn't leave a message I didn't want to talk to them anyway, he said "shaddup" and hung up hung up before it could record.
