Called my cell phone -- caller ID said "South San Francisco Bay Area". When I asked who was calling, she said "Nancy." I said where are you calling from, and she said "my name is Nancy Hudson." It took several more questions before she said she was calling from a prolife committee (she still did not identify the company). I told her I'm on the Do Not Call list, she's calling a cell phone number, and I don't want any more calls her. She kept talking over me, so I have no idea if she actually heard this, or if this was another of those computerized callers made to sound like a human.
Caller ID listed "Contact Center" Friendly southern accented woman who identified herself as Nancy asked a pointed question, something like "are you pro-life, pro-choice, or indifferent?" I started politely telling her I was pro-not answering questions asked by unidentified organization representatives. She hung up before I could answer. How rude was that?
We received two earlier calls with listed "Contact Center" ID and 213-204-4830 number. The caller hung up without leaving a message. Why is this unnamed organization so nosy about my abortion opinion, but so circumspect about its own identity by potentially using different numbers and area codes for the same Caller ID? Who is spoofing whom and why?
She said, "I'm from the prolife committee. Are you prolife, prochoice, or somewhere in-between?" I told her I was all of the above. She quickly thanked me for my time and hung up. The caller ID just came up as "San Martin."
