I received a canned message saying that "... the party in calling has a matter of great business importance to discuss with you...," then gave a 1-888 number to call. As Rckenbacker deals in auto stuff, I am not returning the call and am blocking their number. I have not, personally, lived in CA for over 20 years, nor purchased a car in well over 30.
Re: 408-762-7321.. The ID did not say "Rickenbacker", but the number matches. My elderly father was sleeping when this call came in. Since I didn't recognize the number, I answered the phone and immediately hung up. Our phone has been in a state of "busy/off the hook" ever since. My father is ill and he needs to be able to use the phone in case of an emergency. I'm going to try to find a way to sue them.
Been getting calls from this number for months. Never have answered the phone because they are afraid to identify themselves on Caller ID, telling me they are up to no good and are scammers. They are wasting their time if they think I will ever answer, and furthermore, I don't even have an answering machine or voice mail so they can't start leaving annoying messages to us either. I don't have any reason that a collection agency would call me so they have the wrong number anyway. Idiots.
