I just received the same call and refused to give my address, but they did have an old address of mine, which is concerning. When I mentioned I was just at the IRS office a few weeks ago and I am positive there is no legal action against me, they hung up.
Message on my answering machine from "Lori Jackson", same number as above given (408-940-9733) And all of the same things as the other responders have said. Thanks to all for reporting it so we know to ignore it as the bogus call that it is.
Me too, they messed up my day. First I thought it's a real call, but after I noticed it's scam.it started
from7:30 till 11:00 Am. They even tolled me if i talk to anyone about this. They will send the police after me.
So finally i went to police station and they said not to worry. SO PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!
I got the same thing...multiple times now over the past few days from various numbers. I knew it was a scam immediately (as people have mentioned...IRS is much more formal and does things through mail - plus I'm an attorney and you would never be notified over the phone of something of this sort) and started asking them if they could help with my bowel movements b/c I had some crazy mexican food. The gentleman proceeded to inform me I was on a recorded line, to which i continued to discuss, in detail, my morning bowel movements, and for some reason he hung up on me.
Beware people...I have been called from literally 6 different numbers over the past month. Sometimes the scam is free airline tickets, stuff like that.
I just got a call from Michael Clark from the US federal grants Department he said I was approved for a $9,200 check and that I need to give him my identification number on my driver's license to be verified information good thing I didn't do it and hung up on me right away everybody else needs to do it too
