I do not have a debt owed. This company contacted my place of employement and left a message in my human resources department. I spoke to the same person both times I called back trying to get information like their location and company name, the person who left the message (same strange voice, obvious she's foreign trying to speak english) used different names for each contact. Kathryn one time Trish the other. I called my lawyer to providing him the information, he said it was a scam as well but looking into it.
These people just called me and tried to say that they were going to move forward with a court action against me. Well I went to Credit Karma and did my research, the debt was there but was listed with another collection agency. I called that agency (Ad Astra) the nice young lady informed me that they are the only company handling my account,she was very nice and allowed me to set up a payment plan. She told me that these scams happen because they go online and search for the debt that you have. Then contact customers and have them verify last 4 of ssn or dob. If these people call DO NOT verify any info,hang up and go to Credit Karma or another trusted credit reporting/tracking company and see if the debt is even there. Hope this helps someone!
If you do receive a call from 409-241-9859 they are a scam!!! They called me today and got really ugly with me so i contacted the actual loan company they were telling me i owed a debt to and they referred me to the actual debt collector they sold my account to. When i spoke with the debt collector they were really nice and informed me i did in fact take care of paying off the debt a year after i had opened the loan account. She informed me that this number that had called me was in a fact a scam. I then called this number back and informed them that i had spoken to the actual loan company and and the actual debt collector and my debt was taken care of a long time ago. They stuttered and said no maam they sent your debt to us, i then proceeded to tell them i contacted the local police department and made them aware of this number and what they were trying to do and told them if they ever call my cell phone or work again i will call the police and press charges.I really hope this can help someone in the future if they ever run into the same problem.
The phone number (409) 241-9859 and (409) 241-9851 is from a company that claims their name is "Global Solutions". They are a debt collection company that buys debts from other companies.
This company is currently being sued for harassment, illegal fees.,etc. Just Google it. What they are doing to people is illegal.
They will say anything on the phone to scare you into paying them. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION AT ALL. I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION AT ALL!! Do not fall for their scare tactics, there is NOTHING they can do legally. If someone was to take you to court, they will not call you on the phone and try to scare you, you would be summoned to go to court by the Sheriff's Department. So calm down and hang up the phone, block their number or change yours.
I've done enough research on this bogus company to know. Please do not be scared, all they want is your money so they will say ANYTHING to try to get it. It is not legal to threaten or harass people, however they know they have gotten away with it so they continue to do it.
I've changed my number and haven't had any problems with these scumbags since.
