ASKED FOR A DONATION Paying by phone with a credit card or check. Didn't give a payment. But not knowing I made the mistake of giving my name and mailing address, supposedly to receive a mail back DONATION.
After reading some of these post, no doubt it's a scammer.
Received call from this number, said they were calling on behalf of breast cancer society. Told them this was a business line and to quit calling. It sounded like it was generated from a computer because the voice of the person didn't sound real. Also, when I told them it was a business line the voice kept talking. It is a shame we can't do something to their line when they make these random calls. They are a damn nuisance to say the least.
Rule #1: if you don't recognize the area code, DON'T ANSWER THE CALL!!!
If it's important, they'll leave a message. Alas, as much as I like talking to my Indian friends offering Viagra, or collecting money for breast cancer research, they never do.
