Caller ID displayed QVD; looked it up online to see if its a legitimate company. What I found was a site that suggested that artificial intelligence is being used to automate telemarketing operations, so...a conversation with a robot is not something I find entertaining, may as well ask Siri out on a date for the intellectual conversation. Lol
While I don't know the intentions of this company, I do know they are strangers, they are cold-calling me, and they have automated their tactics to access my finances/money for their purpose(s).
Even if this were a legitimate charity, who knows what percentage they take off the top for "administrative" costs (their salaries, etc.); I've seen some charities listed in the charity catalogues that come out yearly that take the majority of the donation for "their" cut. Charity many times, means giving money to people who ask for it...and, in-turn, they will give a little bit of it to the actual cause being donated to. It's another middle-man scam--if I want to give to an organization, I give it directly to them.
I believe QVD stands for Quality Voice and Data, and as you stated, they're a telemarketing branch. Before I quit answering unknown numbers, the QVD calls I dealt with were more less junk. It almost seems like they were almost always fundraisers. Look up America's worst charities and breast cancer is near the top.
As for percentages, there's a vast difference in what's pocketed by the solicitors and what they're calling for as you can probably guess. My guess is it's between 75-90 percent to the solicitors with the charities coming away with well below 30.
This is a spoofed Caller ID. I do not know anyone in the 409 area code. I blocked the entire 409 Texas area code with my CPR Call Blocker v202. Now any calls from area code 409 will never get through again.
