Just FYI, there is an I-phone app where you can call someone and make it show up as someone else's #.  My 22 year old cousin called my husband's phone and typed in my phone # to appear.  I was in the kitchen, my husband and cousin were in the living room.  He asked me why I was calling him.  I went and checked my phone in my purse to see if a button got pushed.  It didn't show that it had called him at all.  But his caller ID showed I called him.  You can also choose whether you want to talk to the person in a man's or woman's voice.  So to show us what you can do, he called my husband's phone and chose a woman's voice.  He went to the other side of the house and called choosing the local police dept # to show up as calling.  He then started talking to my husband in a woman's voice showing he was calling from the police dept.  Granted, when I was younger I would've thought this was a funny prank.  But you can act like you're someone else calling and it can appear as any phone # as all.  It's scary what can be done now - especially with I phones.  Just FYI, my husband and I neither one have I phones.

I just got a text from this number saying that there's been a hold placed on my Visa card starting with 4311 (I don't have such a card) and I need to call a 1-800 number, which appears to be for a company that does print advertisements. I've got a TracFone and the number's not widely known. I just use it with family, a few close friends, and the kids' school.

MUST READ

I am also getting text messages from the 410 area code. So far I have received 4.
My advice is if you are not expecting it.....DON'T ....reply to it. If you have already, it's too late, the damage has already been done and they got what they wanted from you. Take time to scrutinize the phone number and the content of the txt message before you jump to any action. As you can see the phone numbers are questionable, and the pattern of the txt messages.
It's very possible that they are using this automated txting technique to collect phone numbers/carrier account and data/location/IP address/phone UDID number etc from all those who respond. By responding to the txt it confirms that its an active phone number account and your number will now be placed into a database for future spamming, advertising and hacking your phone via various methods.

I hope that this helps all on this topic
