I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be investigating a bad check that was written by a Melvin Price...
The caller left a message because I was in the shower when he called.
He called me by name and even had my address and left a number for me to call to talk to someone concerning this.
I have never heard of a Melvin Price and I certainly don't write bad checks.
I was so upset that I accidently erased the message ...
I am 64 and live on social security...and a fixed income. I could not understand what he said his name was, because his voice was not clear, but he did sound professional. Wish I had caller Id....when I called star 69, the number was untraceable.
Caller naming self as Steve Larson called elderly woman and said she needed to pay on two checks she wrote to State of Iowa in 2005, which bounced. Same caller called several days later and left message threatening to issue arrest warrant for woman if she did not pay.
I recieved this call and he left a message stating he is Investigator Willcox and that I had 24 hours to call or I would be arrested. He never stated what company he is from or what the call was for. I chose to google it and found out it is a scam.
Ihave also started getting these calls. I mention to Steve that there is scam indie on the internets about him and he said it's because ppl don't want to pay their debts. he will give me 48 hrs to do infor. after that he will file and they will come and knock on my door.
