I ALSO HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS OF THIS TYPE FROM SAME COMPANY AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILE A COMPLAINT AND THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT, ALSO YOU CAN CHECK WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR CORPORATE INDEX AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANYTHING THERE AND MAYBE THIS WILL HELP. I like to press 1 to harass them!
When asked how they got my number, she said you pressed 1 -- I said, no how did you get my number to cal me? She hung up.
Will file a report with the FCC...
I got a call from this number 410-387-7548; claimed I needed an alarm system because of the high crime reported by FBI stats. I know the use of FBi w/o their permission is illegal...so when I answered I was directed to so w guy's answering machine & it was obviously a collection place. I left the message, "I'm Special Agent Billadeaux with the Houston Branch of FBI. Thank you for doing our job and I'm going to report this to my supervisor, Special Agent in Charge Dixon." and hung up!
While you wait to go on the no call list, and while you wait to report them...here's what works for all these kind of calls. You have to wait until they say something, if you say hello often they won't say anything and sometimes hang up, but if you wait a minute , then they'll talk, then you blow a whistle as loud as you can into the voice piece. There you go. I have found, with all these type of calls, you 'll know, so blow.
