I got the same call from the same number. It must be automated and masked because the number I called back was some poor old man in MD. Anyway, I wanted to call back to troll them hard and waste their time while having a laugh. It is blatantly obvious it was a scam, and even to those that fell for it a little... nothing ever works that way. The IRS would never do that type of thing, its a government agency. They take their sweet time with mail and assessments and more mail and more red tape and more mail and maybe a phone call that you initiate... its never "GET TO THE CHOPPA!!".
My mother received the same type of call. They asked for her bank info as well as credit card info! She didn't give any info they wanted so they told her they would be coming to arrest her in 2 hours. Needless to say she's very upset & concerned
