got a call from412-203-3131 said a case file was being turned over for further legal action. called them back and said it had to do with a fraudulent check.
Got this call from Baron and Stone stating I owed from a pay day loan from over 10 years ago in a state I havent lived in for over 18 years and they were going to prosecute me if I did not pay restitution of over 800.00. I called them back and a gentleman answered very rude I informed him I would contact my attorney and he stated go ahead we are here from 8-6 Monday - Friday. MAJOR SCAM!!
I've gotten similar calls. They say I owe about the same amount as the last two comments left here . I'm being told that it's for my cash loan and a check that I wrote for that loan . The dates don't add up . I have been frauded before so I'm very leery about giving out any of my account information, to make payments to anyone that I am not sure of . In the state in which I live, I have to be provided documentation given 30 days to verify that best before I have to pay or be legally responsible . They told me they could not give me any information on the original creditor . Either this is Major Fraud or it's one of those cheesy litigation companies that buys old debts and tries to collect on them . Don't fall for it ! call your Police Department and call to get consultation on how your state works with this sort of extortion . If it's legitimate your police department will tell you how they handle arrests and I'm willing to bet they'll tell you that no collection or litigation company Will give you warning that they're coming to arrest you! If you're afraid to call the police department because you think it might be real what if you got to lose ? They won't come arrest you until they receive documentation !
Received a call from what seemed to be a computerized message from 412-200-5815 "This is Taylor Davenport from Barron & Stone. You are herby notified that your case has been transferred to our office for legal processing. This is due to noncompliance. Our records indicate that you have failed to respond to the notices that were sent to your last home address on the record. At this time your case will be processed pending legal actions. Contact your case manager immediately at 412-203-3131. Good Luck." SCAMMMM! I can even hear the person holding the phone (not person speaking) coughing & sniffling in the background -___- Watch out folks, fraudsters are out to get you this season!
