caller said i got a payday loan from cash direct 7 years ago and my checking account was closed. They said i would be arrested for bank fraud, a class c felony if i didnt pay a restotution amount of $700.00, $500.00 if i paid now, if i didnt california would put out a warrant for my arrest. Like an idiot i gave them my bank info., but I was able to close my account before they collected. A brian mercer from barron and stone said he was a lead investigator, and would file legal charges against me if i didnt sign a docusign.com document today.
Scam! A legitimate debt collector will mail you proof of the debt and won't threaten you with arrest if you don't pay immediately. Just block and ignore their calls.
