Received a call from a number that was identified as being from Algona, IA (515-200-7237)in the message, she identified herself as Ashley MacPherson of Barron and Stone Mediation. The message states there is a pending case against me and that I or my attorney need to return the call and gave me this Pittsburgh, PA number as the number to call them back on. Total scam!
Ready to call 3 times. 2 times from the same number once from a different number from the same person. Her name is Ashley She left a message. They call you in the morning and late at night. Wanting to talk to myself or lawyer. Scams
It's very obvious that this is a scam call. Before anyone answers the phone, the automated message says that they will need your name and social security number. I spoke with a man who says he's been trying to reach my husband and that he has done kind of pending case. I told him that it was B.S. and to stop calling. He was unprofessional and murmured something about "letting the government handle it" and then hung up. What a sad soul. Leeching off of others.
I am getting these calls to total BS I'm going to the authorities what if a elderly person gets one of these calls that could throw them in a heart attack these people are heartless get a real job and stop attacking honest hard working people
I received a phone call from this number. I asked what it was in relation to and they indicted they were mediators for their client. Because I had some financial setbacks in 2005, I still from time to time have to deal with these scumbags. I immediately indicated that I was disputing their claim of debt and asked for their name and address. I was hung up on several times. I was told I was "not in compliance" and that they were litigate. I kindly reminded them that under the FCRA I had the right to have the information on them such as company name and phone number and that of the supposed original creditor. They refused. I told that then that I had the right to information to send a formal dispute letter, and that I was going to file a compliant with the Texas OAG and with the FTC and whatever bureau they operating in which in this case the number indicated Pennsylvania. As they kept hanging up on me or leaving me on permanent ignore, I persisted and called them back. I finally must've reach a woman who knows her stuff she gave only the name of the company as Barron and Stone..... which are a million of those everywhere. These company's often time use names similar to other legitimate companies to avoid being reported. In this case they allowed the phone number to show up on my caller ID. I did a reverse lookup and it seems as though its an individual who owns a small collection agency and works out of a small office in PA. So I reported them with the Texas OAG and the FTC as well. They threatened me with check fraud and malicious intent to commit fraud. they refused to provide me any paperwork and they said that a warrant for my arrest would be issued for me and I could take it up with the court. When I asked when my court day was they said tomorrow. So, I asked for a copy of the affidavit. Again, they refused. Know your rights!! Fight back. In addition, they are waaaaaayyyyy beyond there statute of limitations on collections of this debt even if it was owed. I even entertained them by offering them to mail a check for $50 to get their mailing address, of course they declined. POS! I am just now getting my credit score about 600 and people like this add this stuff back to your reports!! I am currently fixing that too. But, people you should report them! This is the only way anybody will put them out of business.
