Received a call from a number that was identified as being from Algona, IA (515-200-7237)in the message, she identified herself as Ashley MacPherson of Barron and Stone Mediation. The message states there is a pending case against me and that I or my attorney need to return the call and gave me this Pittsburgh, PA number as the number to call them back on. Total scam!
I received a call today from a Taylor Davenport from# 4122005815. So i called back and spoke with Mrs Blake. ( 4122033131 is her#). She then proceeded to tell me the company is Barron & Stone legal mediation and that her client wants restitution from me in the amount of $845 and if i didn't pay them it will be sent to the courts and i will be charged with intent to fraud. This was supposedly for a $200 payday loan from 9 years ago. I was informed that their client was never paid . She was unable to give me the exact payday loan information, just that the merchant is direct cash loan.
I have gotten a call from them too! Exact same thing, had all of my personal information social security number too. I almost fell for it because I do have a payday loan I defaulted on from many years ago. However she also told me that a check was returned from a checking account I never had, which really threw up a red flag for me. Phone number they called from was 412-213-3131
Many calls 412 213 4213 as well as 515 200 7237 same story as everyone above. Totally bogus. They had contacted me by mail with my name and a totally different son security #. I responded as such and gave them no information. Will report to AG in my state.
