Thanks, Steve - nice work! Technically, PACS and Non-Profits are exempt from the National Do-Not-Call Registry, but since there are well over 1 million NPs and who-knows how many thousands of PACS in the US, I treat them all as nuisances and do my best to discourage them ... With "surveys", especially since they generally have leading/slanted questions to get you to answer in a manner they prefer, I give COMPLETELY bogus info, sex, age, shopping habits, political leanings - they get nothing but totally useless info. With NPs, I listen to their pitch, ask a few questions, then pledge a modest amount, to be paid by check after I receive their invoice in the mail - oops, gosh, how did that pledge invoice end up in the trash...? It's not going to stop until we push back enough that cold-calling is not worth it for them...
called 9-14-2016 @ 1156 hours EST. did not answer no message left. accidentally called them back (stupid sensitive touch screen, I grazed it barely with the back of my knuckle so unfortunately I now confirmed my number with them, dammit). blocked. I will never ever pay to be annoyed by unwanted phone calls, freaking ATT already does that for me, thanks for nothing stupid telecommunication snake nest clusterboink.
I also got call from "John Inform Elec " at 11:13 am, 14 Sep 16, from 412-226-0147, same as rest of you, only I was really stupid & answered! I figured it was a pole survey & haven't minded doing short ones! He wanted to call once a mo but because they are not exempt, as a PAC, from no call lists, he wanted me to press "1", giving them permission to call w short survey question. My 2nd stupid was pressing 1!! I told him only until the election was over, which is 2 mos, so I didn't need to press 1. Got worried, altho my landline is blocked for any international calling, that I might have messed up pressing anything!
I didn't mind answering, "did I vote in the last election", but am afraid they will now call me until Kingdom comes! (On various PAC surveys)!
He also asked for a name. I thought he said for them to ask for, when calling. My third stupid : I gave him my 1st name!! Needless to say, I blocked this nr, but feel sure they will use another of their many nrs!! He was so nice & convincing & gave me the website. I sure don't want them getting my e'mail also! Dumb me!!
