Got a call to my home phone from Mechanicsburg for a similar FOP = Frat Order of Police thing yesterday.
Didn't answer that one either - that number was 717-610-4147.
just got a call from this number and they asked for "a $50 donation to support fallen police officers". I said "Sure, send me some information first to verify this is legit and I'll send a $50 donation." Then he said "Well, we can accept a $30 donation straight from the phone." That's when I laughed and knew it was a scam. Next he went on to say: "Ok, we can accept a bare minimum of $15 to help support our police over the phone." I just hung up after that. NEVER SEND MONEY OVER TO THE PHONE TO A STRANGER WITHOUT FIRST INVESTIGATING!!! ASK QUESTIONS AND TELL THEM TO SEND YOU INFORMATION FIRST BEFORE COMMITTING. THEY GET FRUSTRATED WHEN YOU WASTE "THEIR TIME", THEN DON'T WANT BOTHERED.
