The funny thing is. I have asked to be removed from the calling list of St Jude (total of 7 different groups so far: the different groups are all call centers calling on their behalf) and I will continue getting calls until their current round of donation requests is done. Really pisses me off that they call like this every time my grandfather sends a donation in the mail.
That sounds right. I made a memorial contribution to St. Jude when a former coworker passed away last winter. Now I get snail mail from them at least once a week. Also get phone calls from "St. Jude." Now you say they also are using scam tactics (my caller i.d. said only "Clairton PA"). I guess they'll try any trick and make up some new ones. Just crossed them off my Christmas list!
Called today with caller ID listed as Clairton PA and said it was a recorded message. They claim they are from MDS something and started talking about pro-life information. Not interested. Blocked the number & area code. I used to block numbers (landline) through Comcast, but they only allow 25 numbers and I have 93 as of today. Every time I'd get a call I would have to unblock an old number and block the new one. I ended up getting a Panasonic phone with the call block feature. You can block 250 numbers & also parts of numbers like area codes. It's so much better. If you want you can just block the whole area code rather than each number. That way no caller with that area code can call. I now have 44 area codes blocked. These people are out of control!!
