I called them back because I got so many calls...gave them my name, home and cell number...they checked my number and apparently my cell number used to belong to someone who has a debt...I cleared that up and they said they would take my number off their list.
Made the mistake of answering a number I didn't recognize. Told me i had a $55 parking ticket in Pleasant Prairie, WI in 2000. Called Pleasant Prairie Circuit Court and they confirmed it. Nobody can tell me why I never received anything in the mail, haven't had vehicle registration suspended. My wife did work in Pleasant Prairie at the time and the car was same make/model as the car she drove. It just seems screwy you hear nothing and 14 years later they want $55.
This number has been calling our business line several times a day for the last few weeks. We always miss the calls, as they only seem to call outside our regular business hours. This morning I called the number back to find out who it was. I waited on hold for several minutes, but ultimately was directed to a man in customer service. I told him we'd been receiving several calls from the number and I wanted to find out why. He was very apologetic, told me they'd been looking for a Mr. Hill, that they had the wrong number, and they would remove our number from the account. So apparently, if you're NOT the person they're looking for, you just need to answer and they will go away!
Wow! Only answered because I thought it was my dr. Guy was such an [***]. Blocking the #. THAT'S how you get them to stop calling. lol
Everytime they call, block it.
The other thing: Seems shady that they are calling people saying tickets havent been paid. I smell BS.
Nope, they do collections on fines and tickets and things otherwise related to court matters. My son still has an outstanding restitution he needs to pay and they call here many times a week.
