415-506-8083 called several times. We never answered. They never left a message. Yesterday we answered. Robocall recording about an alleged site inspection. We hung up. BUT now they know our number is valid (& that we're stupid enough to answer unknown callers - D'oh!).
This morning (Saturday), 415-234-9981 called for the first time. They called 3 times & left 3 robocall voicemails (computer simulated voice) claiming to be "Officer Julie Smith from IRS".
Julie for the IRS called to say my attorney or I should call this number 415-234-9981 before they take action against me. SCAM SCAM SCAM -- the IRS does not call - they MAIL.
Robot Officer Julie left message (I don't pick up unknown callers) that I must return call to 415-234-9981 or they would proceed with IRS legal action. This is total BS, Don't call them back! Instead, call your Senator or Rep in Washington and insist that the Do No Call list never works. This is harassment. A rogue outfit can set their PBX to deliver/display ANY number without regulations. My blocked caller list is almost maxed out, My nerves already are.

11:10 am. Got a call from number 415-234-9981 and Unknown Name on the CID. I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't recognize, or any Unknown Name, Unknown Number calls. 99.99% of them are phishing scams.
Voicemail was left. I listened to it and immediately knew it was a fake. It was a robotic voice saying the phone number twice, then says, in barely understandable English due to it's robotic nature, "Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Good Bye and take care."
I looked it up here to see it's another scam. My local news site says, if you call them back or answer the call, sometimes the person (or computer) calling claims to be with the IRS, or the Sheriff's office, or some other law enforcement agency. Claims you owe back taxes and a fine, or you missed Jury duty and need to pay a fine, or you owe money on a [parking] ticket, etc., and you must pay right away, within the next 90 minutes. Go buy a Green Dot card for $xx.xx amount. Then call them back and give them the number on the card. Then they take the cash from the card, using the number you gave them, and steal your money.
What idiots would fall for this scam? Only truly stupid ones, I guess.
The IRS doesn't call you on the phone. In fact, who the heck would end a call with, "Good bye and take care", other than someone you know personally? No one.
