A computer generated voice mail was left suggesting that it was 'Heather Grey' and it was an urgent time sensitive matter. I must call the supplied number or legal action will be taken. My wife called the supplied number and they said it was the investigative branch of the IRS called to collect unpaid taxes. A scam. All our taxes have been paid.
We got the exact same message on our machine 2 times yesterday. I plan to call the IRS and FTC today to file my complaints. Beware of another fake name Officer Julie Smith. They probably cycle through different names, but the robo-call messages appear to be exactly the same.
I received the same call today - spoke with some Indian guy as well saying he was an officer and that they needed a name of my attorney because they were filing a case in court for unpaid back taxes. I actually have a payment plan scheduled with the IRS and am on the phone right now with them to make sure this is a scam. Why would people do that?
These a holes called me 2 times today and left messages. Normally I don't call these scammers back but I wasn't thinking. I gave a phony name and a phony address to the Indian guy and the moron accepted the info. Then he demanded a credit card. Told him I didnt have a credit card (I do) but a check would have to do. These idiots are so fun to eff with
