He gave us this number, and I was able to call it up and talk to one of the heavy accented persons working at this scam sham. The number is a Liverpool, NY / Syracuse, NY area code: 315-944-2628. My wife treated them like the Nigerian princes seeing if they would send 100k to get 2 million. I basically spoke really loudly and told them I couldn't hear them a number of times telling them to speak up. At one point in all of shenangians, this guy said do you think I am a fool? And at another point, when he said there was a problem with my computer. I said holy s*** really loud. My wife almost peed her pants, because she was laughing so hard.
We too received a phone call today from the same Indian man. He said our Windows Computer was infected with malware. He gave me this as the phone number, although the Caller ID # showed 706-805-1361. He gave me the address of the company as 101 California Street, San Francisco, CA.
Just got a call from same Indian dude named Jack Stanley! Gave a different number 415_655_1871 but scam line was the same. Called at 5am this scam is still alive and well. He had my comp scaryuter number and said had given it to him so he was legit. He did have the right number and my name and phone number. Very scary
I just got several (because I wouldn't give them what they wanted) phone calls from a guy with a heavy india accent. Said his name was Jack Parker, that he was in New York, was a Microsoft certified technician with a company called Global Network Support (GNS24x7.us), and that he wanted to help me ''fix my computer because it has been sending out thousands of error messages over the last 2 weeks and that it is going to crash if I don't let him help me fix it by giving him remote access to my computer''. I refused to give him anything until I could verify who he is and what he wanted to do. He gave me the company name, web address and this phone number - 1-302-504-6084. I checked the website. It is there but still doesn't mean its legit. I was having a hard time understanding him with the heavy accent so I asked it I could talk to someone else. Gave me to his supervisor - still had an accent, just not as heavy - a guy named James Franklin. Told me the same story. I asked how he got my name and number and said I had provided it when I registered my computer. After reading other posts, I'm glad I didn't give him any info or any access.
