He gave us this number, and I was able to call it up and talk to one of the heavy accented persons working at this scam sham. The number is a Liverpool, NY / Syracuse, NY area code: 315-944-2628. My wife treated them like the Nigerian princes seeing if they would send 100k to get 2 million. I basically spoke really loudly and told them I couldn't hear them a number of times telling them to speak up. At one point in all of shenangians, this guy said do you think I am a fool? And at another point, when he said there was a problem with my computer. I said holy s*** really loud. My wife almost peed her pants, because she was laughing so hard.
The Prefetch is a feature of Windows that actually speeds up the boot process. When Windows starts up, certain processes and programs must load. The files needed to start these are stored in the Prefetch folder. Windows automatically looks there for those files. If you clean out your Prefetch, it won’t hurt anything. But your next boot up will take longer, as those files are put back
I got the call today.. My computer was sending them information that i have a malicious file.. He worked for windows .. LOL .. He didn't say Microsoft .. he said Windows ..He can't tell me what it is but he can show me where it is .. I said I am not telling you nothing about my computer tell me I will get rid of it myself .. He hung up .. Called back .. Then said he never did hang up or call back LOL shaking my head .. He said are you at your computer .. I said whats your name h e hung up....I sure hope no one falls for this ..This was really a coincidence because I did just have trouble and fixed it .. The first time he called was private then he called back said unknown number..
