I received a call this morning on my cell and person spoke in broken english stating that I had won a $100 gift that could be used at Walmart or Target. They said I was a preferred customer. All they wanted was a $1.95 processing fee that could be charged to my credit or debit card. They verified my name, address city and state and zip. I refused to give them my cc information. They got rude and hung up.
We have been called numerous times today about a promotion to Walmart for $5000 since we are good customers. I had to get on the phone and essentially yell at them to stop calling (this is after my wife tried to be nice) and the caller still had a hard time understanding basic English (the word NO seems to give them problems). They are like gnats...you keep swatting them away and they keep coming back. I have also tried calling them back and being added to their do not call list...which at this point I do not think will do any good.
Just ignore the calls...it is not worth it unless you want to get some frustration off your chest :-)
called me before 9 am on a Saturday, would NOT stop asking for my card number, barely spoke English but his name was Steve, said that I won a $100 WalMart gift card, but said I would be charged $2.95 for processing it - which they already did without my permission. He said I would still be charged even though I didn't give them my info. Gave the company name - Homelan Protection - what a bunch of BS - also very rude, refused to give me to a supervisor, i will call back later and get off the list, but wow, what a way to wake up on a Saturday.
