Same as others. I have filed a complaint with the Colorado Secretary of State using the Colorado No Call reporting process (since my phone is on the no call list). I encourage everyone to do the same (in your state of course)
Same story! Ive worked as a painting contractor for 10 years now so i generally can get a pretty good idea when someone is legit. This message sent red flags up right away! I did call back however and it never rang, just heard hold music or a ring back tone or something. Never actually spoke to anyone.
Sad really! I just put my first add on craigslist and im sure thats where they got my number. I did get two legitimate bids in as many weeks from the add so dont fret folks! Keep your adds up.

My husband and I run our own business where we do property preservation and my husband got the exact same message, so he called and spoke with a Josephine. She asked him a series of questions and then said it would be $99 for a background check and once cleared he could start work as early as mid next week. She gave us a phone number for her which was 866-827-2982 ext. 720 and also for a Sara White who would be doing the background check, same number ext. 706. My husband just tried calling those numbers again just to verify and got a message for both of them. She had also given him an "account number" to their website along with a password, which was "house". Needless to say it was invalid. She also said she would be sending an e-mail immediately after the call and we would need to fill everything out and send it back to her.
Did I mention how all this came about, his nephew posted an ad on craigslist for our business without telling us, he's 13. Anyways, he got a voicemail from "John" saying the same stuff everyone else has reported.
After all is said and done my husband calls me to let me know the good news, that he is going to be getting work and keeping busy. (Yes, he gave them our credit card information). Immediately after getting off the phone with him I started doing my research and it was all bad. I called Bank of America and guess what . . . they have never heard of All Trades Now. He checked their internal sites for any vendor matching that name. He asked numerous managers and no one has heard of them. I immediately cancelled our card. Do not trust these people. Everything I have found leads to a dead end.
My husband was so excited because he said it all sounded so good and Josephine had the answers to all of his questions without hesitation.
Note: If it sounds too good to be true . . . it probably is.
Glad i dug a little deeper on this. I was 2nd hand in the matter. My buddy just started a handymand service (I'm a licensed contractor, so he wanted to "colaborate' with me). Which sucks, cause it sounds like a good deal (duh)(but double duh, sounds too good)
