LOL i agree speak english or the the fudge off my phone , I reported them to FTC it is a scam. Good luck just let them know you reported them to FTC and local police them quit calling.
I have read through prior complaints about these people, but all were from last year. Well they must be at it again!
I received a call earlier to from a 415 area code and sent it to voicemail. A couple hours later they called again and just kept calling back so I answered. The number was 415-484-6151. A guy with a very thick middle eastern accent asked for my husband by name, I asked him who was calling, it was silent a moment and he says "what happened" I told him I asked who is calling! Another silence, but I don't recall if he even gave me a name just quickly said something about Law Office of.... At that point I thought he was just being vague as collectors usually are, not giving up any infor until they get the person asked for on the phone. It just so happens we are in the process of filing for bankruptcy so I advised him of that and asked for the creditor name, account #, amount, etc to make sure they were listed on the bankruptcy. The caller said he needed my attorney's name and phone #, I insisted he just give me the info I requested. He repeated the filed case & SSN thing again, so I handed my husband the phone and he said "This is _____ _______ I'm in the bankruptcy process goodbye" and hung up on the guy. Middle eastern dude immediately called back and says a case has been filed on this name and SSN and I need to contact his Senior Attorney. I asked if it was a civil case he paused and says yes as if unsure. I again asked for creditor info he told me he didnt have it. I said you don't have the name or account info? Told me again to call his Sr Atty. After asking again who filed this "case" he says Dept of Legal Affairs Investigation. I said let me get this striaght you have no info at all? OK so if I want to pay this debt today (which i had no intent) who would I pay and how much? Again "call my sr atty. my job is just to call people and tell them a case has been filed against their name and SSN. You need to get information from my sr. atty) I said OK what's the # he gives me a (415) I asked the atty name he says JAMES BOND! Laughing my @$$ off I said ok then where is he located? The guy says same place as me California Law Office. I told him I meant city, state,etc. He kept pausing and finally says San Francisco. I told him OK I would give him a call and the guy says "Right now!!" My husband calls the # (btw it's Saturday) and an indian sounding woman answers. He says his name and that we just received a call from someone telling us we need to contact their office. *Long pause* She says"what?". My husband said I need to speak to James Bond (as he tried not to laugh). The lady says "Who?!!" then a guy gets on the phone, husband repeats himself and the guy hung up.
My husband says that's the same guy that just called us. I looked at the caller ID and the # they told us to call and it is the SAME #!!!!
I went and googled the "attorney" name in San Fran and nothing, then California Law Office of course nothing, then Dept of Legal Affairs Investigation and page after page of results came up all on ripoff.com or this site. After reading others complaints, the calls are very much the same as what we received except they are not mentioning loans, payday loans,etc as the did to others. But other than that same thing. I can't recall if they asked to verify his SSN. But I thought it interesting when I read how they had been using payday loans as the "owed money". Over the last week I have been BOMBARDED with emails about payday loans using my husband's name. We don't share email so not sure how they got mine.
I just wanted to let others know that these calls are occuring again. I'm going to report them and let others on Facebook know as well as my bank. Scary stuff!!!! PLEASE BEWARE!
