I got a call from Stephanie, saying if we didn't get $3000 into the "IRS account" by 2:00pm my husband would be arrested and in jail for 12 months with no opportunity for getting out or getting a lawyer. They wanted me to get cash, go to Western Union and call her back. She would then give me instructions on how to send the money in correctly.
Scared me to death. I called the IRS, they said that it is a scam.
I have a similar story than most of the previous posts that I have read. I was prepared, however. When they called, I asked for a name and address. What he told me was likely fake but I asked anyway. Then I told him that I had been recording the conversation from the beginning and I was contacting the local police because I didn't believe him. Suddenly we became disconnected! I guess he somehow decided to end the phone call.
Just received a call from someone claiming to be an IRS agent.
She claimed that an investigation was filed for the last 5 years of my tax returns.
I needed to call Kenneth Webster immediately to discuss the investigation.
Received a call from 876-293-9509 from guy with Indian accent saying I won $250K certified cashier's check and Mercedes and to call 415-484-8569 or 347-349-9953. I didn't bother, but I will probably call the police since nobody has stopped these fools for over a year.
