I have had this so called telemarketer call the home many times a day since I have moved into my new place 2 months ago. It is a rental home and I use VOIP. I usually never pick up the phone because I do not recognize the number. However, lately I proceeded to do so. Every time I do, they constantly hang up - whats the purpose of calling! The caller ID says CKIRWIN & A HIN with the number 415-491-4937. I too called the number back, and it said it was disconnected. It blows my mind that this is legal. I will check back on this website to see if someone finds a way to stop these people from calling! If I find a way, I will let everyone know!!
The first day I bought I cell phone, it registered a "Missed call" from this number. I deleted it, since I had not given my number to anyone and recognized the area code as San Francisco, where I know noone. I figured it was a mis-dial. Three days later it showed up again as a "missed call," at which point I googled the number and found this site. Wow!
A male named Barry Williams called me from the reported number.He asked for me by my first name,I responded by aking him if he knew me ,he said no so I told him not to call me by my name or solicit me and I hung up.Well he called right back,I let the machine pick it up and he left this message. (my first name repeated with these exact words)'Pick up the phone buddy,come on pick up answer You are a general piece of sh*t and your wife sucks my d*ck every night.'
Then he hung up.Well I called the operator/phone , nothing from them after I was disconnected and sent to the wrong departments a couple of times.I called my local police,they came took a report and the message.So here I am,I can't believe this is happening from the same number to other people and nothing is being done about it.If I didn't live on the opposite end of the USA from California I would find my own satisfaction.
I am just a friend of the REVELATOR. This situation really got under my skin though. I called the California Public Utilities Commision, then their Consumer Affairs Branch and thought I had hit a brick wall because I repeatedly heard, "Oh, if it is a Tela-Marketer we have no recourse."
