I also got a threating call from this number and listened to the message when I got home from work. Before calling back I looked up the number online because I really thought that the IRS would send a letter. As you can see I am just one of the many people that these S.O.B.'s are trying to scam. I really hope they get what's coming to them.
FOLLOW UP: I CONTACTED THE IRS IMPERSONATION FRAUD BUREAU AND OF COURSE, THEIR NUMBER WAS BUSY. THEY SAID IN THEIR PHONE CALL TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON LINE WITH THE TIGTA.GOV WHICH I DID. (NO PROBLEM)
Got this call this morning, claiming they were the IRS. Garbled but threatening, claiming I had to call back or the IRS would be taking action against me. I do not owe taxes. Crazy freaking crooks, I reported them to the TIGNA website.
Like all the other posters, I got this call from the "IRS"...total scam, didn't pick up the phone and keeping the voicemail 'filed' away for future reference. Why can't the FCC stop these scammers?
Because they can scam you using US phone numbers from anywhere in the world, including from countries hostile to the US and which do not help us enforce our laws against their citizens.
Now, if you were willing to start World War III because of the call you received, I might be able to introduce you to some senior members of the military-industrial complex that might be able to use their PACs to bribe a few congressmen and senators to help support your cause...
