Received call from US Treasury or so he said, told him I had surgery and was on pain meds and could not talk, said he would call back.
Now I know it is a scam as I have verified on web.
Chris Walker called me too! He's after a lot of people for fraud ;-) LOL
What I don't understand is how I am on the do not call list but some how these annoy calls still get through!
Just got a call from Chris Walker with Dept. Of Legal Affairs, US Treasury. Same story as everyone elses. Not long ago I got a message from someone, couldn't understand his name, claiming to be with IRS. That number was 202-241-2968. Same type of BS scam. This is why I don't answer my phone from numbers I don't have stored and wait to hear if they leave a message.
My elderly Grandmother got a call today from "Officer Chris Walker" looking for me when I haven't lived at her house for years, stating that I was in legal trouble. They gave her the number of 213-437-6096 for me to call back. I tried to convince her it was a scam. I tried calling back the number and it was a recording for the office of Robert Price of the Dept. of Legal Affairs of the U.S. Treasury. I then Reverse looked up the phone number and searched the web of course finding several web sites including this one that depicts the same scenario. I will be reporting the number to my local police department, the local police department from which the number stems from, the IRS, and anyone else I can think of along the way. These people are a disgrace.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Received a call twice from the number 415-506-2414. He did leave a message. States his name is Chris Walker with the dept of legal affairs with the US Treasury . He asked for our daughter who does not live here. Sounds like a thick Pakistani or Indian accent. And, he sounds like he is reading off a notecard. This is a scam.
