File a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies and also get your credit card number changed. I think these people are credit card thieves. Since they can spoof your phone number, they can call your credit card provider and make it look like the call is coming from your phone. I think all they need is the last four digits of your credit card to access your account. That is one racket, asking for your card number is another. If you reported your card stolen, they should not be able to do anything with it and hopefully they will get caught when they try to buy something with it.
My new approach is to pretend interest and, when they ask for my credit card information, tell them I have to go find the credit card. Then I let them sit and wait while I work on the computer or do something else. In a couple of cases (after they've waited several minutes) I tell them I am on the Do Not Call list and never had any interest in their so-called service.
Just got this call too and I pressed one to speak with a live representative and they hung up the phone. I called back and got a voicemail but I could not understand what they were saying in the message and it cut off abruptly. The man in the message sounded foreign but the number is registered in San Francisco. I don't have a credit card so I immediately knew this was fraud. I was already registered on the no call list since last August so I have no idea how they got my number. Nevertheless, I filed a complaint on the National Do Not Call List website. You guys should do it too because these people are committing a felony. I'm looking at the times of the calls for this number here on this site and they are all today. Bust these people! It is a federal crime for a recording to call you at any time. The fact that they would offer this to me even though I do not even have a credit card is evidence of fraud. Got a missed call from this number. I don't answer the phone when it's a number I don't know. I googled the number and came up with this site. Just thought I would add my call to the growing list. I'm on a do not call list too. Our numbers probably got sold by a company we use we thought we could trust or one of their sites got hacked.
Same. ID appears as 415-613-0482 - left no msg. I effected a BLOCKED CALL to the number, you get a recorded message about their contact having been, a "solicitation call", and that you should "ask" to be placed onto THEIR do not call list (don't, as such would VALIDATE your number for them as being a good prospect). IGNORE their calls, and complain to the Do Not Call List.
Got a call from this phone number on my cell phone (which is on the do not call list) to tell me that I could lower my interest rate on my credit card. I do not even have a single credit card. When I tried to speak with someone to take me off the list I was hung up on.
