I received another email back and it gave me the 415 # as a James Phillips who Mr. Lao claims to be his attorney. I thought I would do some further research before calling this number and found this blog. So this is a scam, do your research and BEWARE!!!!

I also found a job listing as a personal accountant / bookkeeper. I then received an email from a Mr. Sal Wong saying that he would pay me $1,100 every two weeks and asked that I get a quote on a laptop and printer which he would purchase for my use for his business. Something didn't seem right, but I got the quote just to see what the next steps were. I then received the following email:

Also this is my Attorneys' number 415-651-4975, his name is James Phillips,He will be traveling on a short vacation tomorrow, hopefully you can get a hold of him on the phone and if not , drop a message with his assistant as i am sure he will get back to me,(I will need you to call and let him know about you,that is all you have to do ,after the call i will like you to notify me and i will also be calling you before my arrival, i want your computer to be fully ready and functional before my arrival and i will be making the money available to you as soon as i can.So do reconfirm your details so i can authorise the funds for the computer and accessories for your task as i will want it all set up before my arrival.

I called the number for his attorney and was told I had just missed him and to leave a message. The person that answered also asked me if I had provided Mr. Wong with my contact info (home address, phone #, etc.).
Something in me said this was a little to weird. Why would someone hire me and give me money for a computer without wanting to meet me or at least talk to me personally on the phone.
Beware - if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
