We had a voicemail message, a recording, from "Nicky Johnson". The first 1/2 of the message did not record, but she/the computer says it's the IRS and we must call them back before they take further action against us. We did Not call the phone number; and, I see here by Googling the phone number it is a scam, as we suspected.
The caller from 415-779-9722 identified themselves as the IRS and indicated I have litigation pending. He asked for personal information including my SS number. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he hung up.
Got call from an automated recording calling herself officer Nikki Johnson from IRS stating me or my retained attorney contacted her and provided this scam hotline number.
First I received a recorded message from Nicky Johnson saying I was in trouble with the IRS. When I called back they wanted my social security number. I told them they were in trouble with the IRS and they said they would stop calling, however they called again.
I received a voice mail at my number ... from 415 799-9722 stating that to avoid legal action against me I needed to call the number right away. It is a scam. I work for the IRS and can tell you we don't make these kinds of phone calls. We send out letter first to address on the return. Hope people don't fall for this scam!!
