We had a voicemail message, a recording, from "Nicky Johnson". The first 1/2 of the message did not record, but she/the computer says it's the IRS and we must call them back before they take further action against us. We did Not call the phone number; and, I see here by Googling the phone number it is a scam, as we suspected.
Received a robo call sounding voicemail from "officer Nikki Johnson from Internal Revenue Service" stating the issue at hand is very time sensitive and to call the hotline to her division. Stated to not disregard this message before action is taken against me. Ended message with "goodbye and take care".
I got a call from this number this morning saying I owe back taxes from 2007-2013 and I needed a lawyer. A man from India with broken English said he was with the IRS. He said they were going to seize all of my property if I didn't pay. I asked why this was the first time I had heard anything? I file every year- jointly with my husband. He said they sent all of the paperwork to my address in Florida- Well I haven't lived in Florida for 10 years and was filing my taxes in North Dakota until last year! He also didn't know my married name! He called me by my maiden name. I said the IRS knows where I live because my brother in law works for the IRS and I pay my taxes. I'm going to give him a call. Total scam. Don't tell them anything! Stirred me up quite a bit though.
