There are two excellent posts in this thread telling you what is going on. Did you read them? The poster you are referring to has no knowledge of who or where these calls are coming from. He is most likely an internet troll looking for attention.
The message is the same as those below. Officer Nikki Johnson from the IRS. I didn't think they made phone calls. Thank you SO much to all those who have posted previously. A great website!
This morning I got an automated voice mail from 415-800-3082 as "from Officer Nickie Johnson...specific threatened IRS action against you... if you do not return the call...do not disregard this message...or will take action against you. I called the phone number back as indicated. One man with some kind of accent answered the phone and claimed that he is from IRS and asked me the reason why I was calling. I asked him to tell me more about his agency and his work and told him that the voice mail sounds like a scam. The man was angry and threatened to take action against me. He then hanged up on me.
It was the second time that I received this kind of voice mail. Hope someone with the authorities will take actions to stop this kind of harassment. Are there some ways to trace back the source with this specific phone number? Which phone company authorize this phone number? This phone company should take actions and work with the relevant authorities to protect the general pubic.
