same thing as the others I have gotten this same woman/June Smith/IRS call before that they are taking action...everyone knows the IRS NEVER calls I have blocked the different numbers but today they have a new one 415-829-9423 which I promptly blocked same voice same recording same threat, I wonder does this really work for them?????
This scam message is such a direct giveaway! Everyone knows the IRS does NOT call.. and they certainly wouldn't end their "threatening" message with "Goodbye and take care".. hahaha. I've gotten this "time sensitive" message at least 6 times over the past year. So, how what is the "sensitive" part about the timing? BUT.. lets be honest, there are many elderly and un-savvy people who will get cheated with this scam, being afraid and of course trusting the "take care" ending. They will give their SS numbers and probably bank account numbers too. What a world.
Yes same number I called back and had me going right up till the part where they asked for my social security number. At that point I told them they needed to give me the address of my last file return. The guy got heated and told me the sheriff was coming to arrest me and put me behind bars.
Just received my second call from this number today. The first called scared the crap out of me so I called right away and it went straight to a voicemail. I tried again and it just rang and rang with no answer. After reading all of these posts, I disregarded the 2nd call I received just a few minutes ago. I hope no one falls for this. Working for the bank I know how naive people can be when it comes to being scared into giving away information. Good luck!
