It seems that number isn't reachable anymore? At least not when you hide your called ID. My buddy has been trying, but he gets a "Number not in service" message.
You know what's ironical here? THEY don't want to be bothered by US!
Called my wife & claimed to be from IRS and threatened arrest/jail. When my wife asked for him to provide info on herself--he hung up. I called later tonight and answered IRS. I asked his name and he said "James" --I said I had found his number on the interenet listed as a scam. He then said, "What if I put negative comments about your number on the internet" Clearly a scam
I just got a call exactly like the one above. This guy with a heavy indian accent saying I hadn't paid my taxes and that legal action was going to be taken and that within an hour authorities would be at my residence with a warrant for my arrest and all my bank accounts would be frozen and my driver's license would be suspended. The only thing they asked for was my phone number.
I should have googled the number before I called them back. How aggravating!
My husband received a call today 11/7/2013 asking for a "David garbled..." My name is "Mark Murphy from IRS Department"... "Don't try to ignore this" "this is "time-sensitive; you have a deficiency in your taxes".... Dude had a ridiculously heavy accent and was clearly reading from a script of B.S.
Received several harassing calls from this number around 6:45 in the morning. The caller was some Indian sounding scammer impersonating an IRS agent. He was asking for someone who doesn't even live here. I asked for name, phone number, and address, and he hung up.
